2010 WPTC Teams
Get to know the teams
The World Pastry Team Championship is presented in alternate (even-numbered) years. In odd-numbered years, the National Pastry Team Championship is held to select the team that will represent the USA at the World Championship.
Selection of the other teams to compete - up to 12 teams in total compete in each competition - is a long and complex process that begins shortly after the conclusion of the preceding National competition. In general the process starts out by reaching out to national associations and pastry chefs in various countries who may be willing to organize a team to compete. This "invitational" aspect means that only captains who are qualified to mount a credible effort are selected. Normally, it takes several months for teams to be confirmed. As teams are assembled, information about them will be posted on the home page of this site and on this page. Complete bios will be posted on the community site for the Pastry Team Championship and World Pastry Forum.
